My new friend, Jennifer offered a great opportunity for us this summer-- her pool for swimming lessons! Heidi, a swim instructor from the Ithaca YMCA, comes over to Jennifer's pool every Wednesday afternoon and teaches swimming lessons to four kids--- Kate, Abby, Cole and Carson. Heidi works with the three older kids for the first 45 minutes, then Carson has her one-on-one lesson. Alison Schug comes along for support-- she usually in entertaining Campbell during the lesson. Heidi told me after the lesson that Carson was a 'natural swimmer' and she's doing a great job for a 3-year old!
After the lesson was completed, Heidi jumped off the diving board after much coaxing from her students. Right after her jump, Campbell promptly said, "My turn, Mom!" Off she went to the diving board, climbed right on and jumped in to Heidi waiting for her in the water. She has no qualms about....anything!
